Signing a 5-year lease for 1,000m2 of space at a gross rental of R130/m2, Joe receives a total benefit amount of R1 560 000. Taking advantage of both SmartMove benefits, he decides to allocate 50% of the benefit towards SmartFit (R780 000), which he uses towards making sure his new offices are fitted out according to his company’s needs. He then uses the remaining amount towards SmartRent, giving him a rent-free period valued at R780 000 over his lease period.
