About the Park

Situated in Gardens, just off Kloof Street and on the periphery of Cape Town’s CBD, the Longkloof precinct comprises 17,000m² of A-grade office and retail space and offers quirky, trendy workspace with access to a host of amenities in a vibrant business community.

The Precinct

Home to the award-winning 32 on Kloof building, the precinct currently offers newly renovated office space in Darter Studios, Thresher Studios and The Refinery. The phased development will also include a variety of retail opportunities, a 150 room Canopy by Hilton hotel and safe pedestrian access to the busy Kloof street. There are spectacular views of Table Mountain.

The History

The iconic red brick and white masonry buildings, originally built in 1920, provide an industrial look and feel, full of history and character. Originally developed at the UTC warehouse, administrative block and schoolhouse, the premises feature raw brick walls, exposed ceilings and original wooden flooring. The office spaces, varying from 300m² to 3000m², are well suited to hi-tech and creative industries and any other businesses seeking something different from the traditional corporate office.

Amenities

The precinct has recently undergone extensive upgrades to the foyers, ablutions and common areas. This also includes new basement parking levels and an attractive courtyard with a retail opportunity suited for a restaurant or coffee shop. An extension to the ground floor office areas – and accessible for all – is The Yard, a beautifully landscaped public space with an impressive water feature. Back-up generator availability and a strong fibre connectivity infrastructure add to this precinct’s appeal.

Neighbourhood

The precinct is close to a MyCiTi bus stop, Spar, an upmarket retail node and lifestyle centre. An abundance of popular cafes and eateries nearby makes this an ideal location to pop out for shopping, a quick business lunch or after work celebration with colleagues and friends.

32 on Kloof and Thresher Studios are home to the vibrant Workshop17, a collaborative workspace that offers additional event and meeting room space.

Longkloof Square

A beautiful public area with an impressive water feature, The Yard is the pivot around which Longkloof turns. It is available to hire for entertainment, year-end functions, film shoots and corporate events.
