We have already completed the installation of photovoltaic solar panels with the capacity to generate over 8.3MWp at fifteen of its office, retail and industrial properties. We are therefore close to achieving our goal to install rooftop solar farms capable of generating an impressive 10MWp by the end of 2017.
These solar farms are at our landmark assets across the country, including Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront, The Constantia Village, Bayside Mall, Airport Industria and 33 Bree and De Waterkant. Its InfoTech building, Brooklyn Mall and Kolonnade Shopping Centre in Pretoria, Waterfall Mall in Rustenburg and Lincoln on the Lake office building in Umhlanga also benefit from solar power generating installations. We have also established sizable solar farms at Northgate Mall, Sunnyside Office Park, Anslow 2 Office building, EOH Gilloolys Office Park, and Inanda Greens Business Park in Johannesburg and Key West Mall in Krugersdorp.
We have a solar carport project underway at Vaal Mall which is expected to generate some 1.1MWp of renewable energy. This is only the beginning, as we have identified over 70 buildings across our portfolio for possible future solar PV installations.
